„Poland: prime minister Kaczynski, forced by European Union, USA and multiple NGOs released yesterday two hundred thirty one blogers, arrested after street fights, which paralyzed the centre of Warsaw for a week. He also promised to do as much as possible to change the press law based on oppressive, communistic regulations.
The case which shocked international public opinion started, when a sentence of polish Supreme Court obliged every owner of the internet site to register as publisher of a newspaper. It caused, of course, understandable frustration of internet subcultures, site owners and blogers. Voices about return of censorship appeared. The common discontent was deepened by silence of government and parliament, which was expected to introduce changes and solve the problem. Lack of reaction, as well as former displeasure from politics, became reason of great freedom of speech-defending manifestations in Warsaw and other major cities, which turned into regular battles with police. After almost seven days the demonstrations were brutally suppressed, but Poland become object of international condemnation. All over the world polish government was criticized by press, as well by ordinary people, who spontaneously organized “Chain of Solidarity”, serious of support demonstrations, the biggest one in Moscow. Heads of the most powerful states joined the action. And we can observe the effect now. Among the “freedom fighters”, as they call themselves, the most active were blogers of Salon24, polish biggest bloging platform.
“What is really great – says Igor Janke, the founder of the portal – is that we all united ourselves to defend freedom-of-speech and democracy. It is real victory of this values, but also of tolerance and pluralism, because we have shown, that we can cooperate in crucial cases, even if we differ as far as our political beliefs and sympathies are concerned”. “Leftists or rightists, we don’t want our mouth to be gagged” – adds his wife and co-moderator of the portal, Bogna Janke.”

Co powiecie na taki scenariusz? Bo mnie osobiście wkurza to, że w tym kraju każdy nierób może zrobić strajk albo zablokować ruch w stolicy, i to, że tylko z takimi ludźmi się liczy. Czy doczekam się czasów, kiedy szanowni posłowie rzeczami tak ważnymi, jak zmiana prawa prasowego pochodzącego z czasów Urbana, i zablokowanie przenoszenia go na Internet?
