PRAKTYCZNA SOLIDARNOŚĆ

Celem konwoju statków płynących do Gazy było zapobieżenie humanitarnej katastrofie bez ustanku zagrażajacej temu terytorium z powodu izraelskiej blokady.

 

Ich organizatorami jest bardzo wiele organizacji. W większości, trzeba przyznać, lewicowych. Najaktywniejsze z nich to skandynawski Ship to Gaza (Statki do Gazy) iJews for Israeli-Palestinian Peace! (Żydzi dla pokoju Izraelsko- Palestyńskiego!)

Ship to Gaza jest niezależną inicjatywą praktycznej solidarności ze społeczeństwem Gazy powstałą w celu zapobieżenia katastrofie humanitarnej. Ship to Gaza wyposaża i wysyła w drogę statki z pomocą humanitarną. Jej przyjęciem i administracją w Gazie zajmują się niezależne politycznie organizacje.

 

Goal

Ship to Gaza is an initiative for practical solidarity with the people of Gaza. As soon as it is economically and practically possible we intend to send a ship with necessities from Scandinavia via ports in Europe and the Mediterranean to Gaza.
In the ports visited by the ship, cultural and public opinion events will be arranged together with local organizations. In Gaza the reception and distribution of the aid will be administered by politically unaffiliated organizations.

Membership

The association is open to individuals and Swedish and European organizations, on the national as well as the local level, which are willing to support the goals of Ship to Gaza. Members are required to support the platform of Ship to Gaza and pay the annual membership fee, which is determined by the annual meeting and approved of by the board. By “Swedish/European organizations” it is understood to mean organizations active in Sweden/Europe.

Platform

Ship to Gaza is unaffiliated with political and religious organizations. It is a non-profit association which wishes to promote increased respect for human rights and international law.
Ship to Gaza interprets the humanitarian emergency in Gaza as being created by political policy
Ship to Gaza intends to supply, man and sail the ship with humanitarian aid from the Nordic countries via European and Mediterranean ports.
Ship to Gaza expects each state to respect the principal of the international law of free passage and to guarantee shipping protection in the ports visited on the journey.
Ship to Gaza is a non-profit and peaceful action from person to person.
