Re: important note about the itinerary and the program of the visit to Poland

Dear Mr Mitt Romney,

I am writing to thank you very much for your imminent visit to Poland and to ask you, the distinguished  Republican candidate in the forthcoming Presidential Election, to include in your itinerary the historical Wawel Kings’ Crypt in Cracow, the burial site of late Polish President Lech Kaczyński and First Lady Maria Kaczyńska as well as a meeting with the Opposition Leader Jarosław Kaczyński, a twin brother of the late President.  

Please note that Lech Wałęsa is considered by majority of Poles, especially your voters in US, as deeply discredited and detested by millions, esp. after the publication of well-documented work of experts, dr. Piotr Gontarczyk and dr. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, "SB a Lech Wałęsa. Przyczynek do biografii", proving his paid collaboration with the communist regime.

I was deeply saddened and disappointed by President Barack Obama failing to attend our late President’s funeral ceremonies, even though other heads of states, including those coming from US territory, managed to overcome traveling obstacles (my own letter pleading reconsideration also remained unanswered).
 
Prof. Lech  Kaczyński, a true friend of America, and 95 prominent Poles died in an unexplained plane crash on April 10th, 2010 at Smolensk in Russia,  on their way to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Katyń massacre, a part of the massive genocide perpetrated on Polish nation by Russian authorities in 1940s.  Formally, despite some political concessions, Russia refuses to take responsibility for the genocide, as shown in the case pending at the Strasbourg Tribunal.

The Smolensk Tragedy has strong implication for the security and prestige of NATO itself as well as all its members: the head of a member-state and NATO generals had been killed at Smolensk in unexplained, suspicious circumstances, confidential NATO data may have been compromised there, and yet NATO representatives do not have an access to investigations!  It has to be rectified and decisive measures need to be taken to prevent similar tragedy in future for the common good of all NATO citizens. 

Not surprisingly, a great majority of Poles, including millions of American citizens, deeply mistrust the official findings and, so far to no avail, call increasingly louder for an independent, international expert commission to investigate the crash. 

It is obvious that such proceedings always should be free from conflicts of interests while appropriate, commonly accepted standards - followed.  Yet, the commission appointed by Russia (MAK) had certified the technical safety of the plane before the crash, there were members of the Russian commission not at the arm’s length, and the Polish officials responsible for ensuring the late President’s safety, neither have removed themselves from the proceedings nor have been suspended.  More so, the Polish Prime Minister, politically responsible for numerous confirmed contributing failings as well as failings of his staff, not only remained in charge but had decided to appoint the minister responsible for overseeing security of the late President,  the head of the Polish commission!  Standards of investigations have been violated time and again.  There was no sufficient security or protection on the crash site and no reconstruction of the plane has been taken up: the plane remains, its equipment, private documents and other victims’ possessions have been left on the site for months, allowing for numerous documented thefts.  Postmortems were proven to be falsified while human remains were found on the site by pilgrims repeatedly for months and months while, unprecedently, the crash site has been pulverized and leveled immediately, trees, bushes and grass quickly cut; there if even evidence of breaking the plane windows, of crushing, cutting and washing parts of the plane right after the crash.  Also, there are documented, numerous and serious scientific objections to official findings, indicating that the crash was caused by two explosions on the board of the plane while still high above the forest, and not by hitting a tree, as official reports stated.

Dear Mr. Romney: your visit to the Wawel Kings’ Cript will be remembered and valued by millions of Polish and American citizens while your meeting with the Opposition Leader Jarosław Kaczyński will ensure a proper political balance if not a necessary electoral compensation in the eyes of your American Polish voters.
