W wojnie prawda umiera pierwsza. O tym można było się przekonać jeszcze niedawno. Wojna miedzy Rosją a Gruzją była rowniez wojna propagandowa. Zarówno Rosjanie jak i Gruzini próbowali dezinformować świat: Rosjanie bezczelnie zawyżali liczbę ofiar w Osetii, a Gruzja przedstawiła się jako niewinną ofiarę rosyjskiej agresji. Wojna, to rowniez wojna w internecie. Gruzja blokowała wszystkie rosyjskie stacje telewizyjne i dostęp do stron internetowych z końcówką ru. A Gruzińskie strony internetowe nie były już dostępne z Moskwy.
Zaskakująco jest, ze tej propagandzie wojennej polski prezydent udostępnił platform.
W 9-tego sierpnia minister spraw zagranicznych Gruzji z portalu prezydenta RP twierdził
On 9 August 2008, a military aircraft of the Russian Federation bombarded Tbilisi- Baku- Ceyhan international oil pipeline passing through the territory of Georgia.
This act of aggression reveals once again the real character of the” peace operations” carried out by the Russian Federation in Georgia and the genuine underlying reasons of their aggressive actions.
It is obvious that this act of aggression by the Russian Federation is aimed not only against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, but threatens energy security of the whole international community.
Kilka godzin później rzecznik British Petroleum zaprzeczył:
We've seen reports attributed to a Georgian minister saying that the Russians have bombed the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
We are not aware of that and I think we probably would be if it were true.
