The plan is simple. Every week or two I want to write one short piece about whatever is sitting on my desk: a book I finished, a walk I took, a small repair around the flat that took three tries to get right. Nothing urgent, nothing breaking. Just the kind of notes that used to live in a paper notebook with a rubber band around it.
A few things I expect to show up here. Reading notes, because I read slowly and forget quickly unless I write things down. Short walking routes, because the best way I know to untangle a week is a long walk with no headphones. Occasional cooking experiments, most of them modest and some of them regrettable. And whatever small domestic project is currently winning or losing the argument with my patience.
Why write it here instead of keeping it private? Two reasons. First, knowing that a page exists makes me finish my sentences, and finished sentences are where I actually find out what I think. Second, a public notebook attracts better corrections. If I get a tree wrong or a street name wrong, someone will tell me, and the note gets better.
So that is the shape of it. Expect short posts, plain language, and a slow cadence. If any of that sounds like your kind of corner of the internet, welcome. The kettle is on.
